the Rangers of the Way

"The Way is dangerous; We are the protectors."
takes place in the Archmage world, in the kingdom of Evehnarra. The wilderness in the region is very dangerous, containing viscous monsters, gold-hungry bandits, and untalented minstrels. There is a guild of rangers who swore an oath keep the roads and pathways of Evehnarra safe from the denizens of the wilderness. This guild is led by a group of elite rangers, the Lord Ranger to the North, Lord Ranger the South, Lord Ranger to the East, Lord Ranger to the West, and Lord Apotheus Ranger. Each of these Lord Rangers leads a small band of rangers to ride with, save for the Lord Apotheus, who sits on the King's Council in Holy Mountain of Endron. This story centers around the group led by the Lord Ranger to the East. They ride in the region of Tamdren, a rich forested area surrounded my mountains, where it's seemingly autumn year-round, with red-orange-yellow trees and fallen leaves coating the ground. Many fearsome creatures lurk the wild in this region though, including trolls, bears, witches, wraiths, giant spiders, wolves, redcats, and of course, bandits. The rangers protecting this area's roads must be quick, agile, vigilant, and quick to respond.
plot: The rangers, making their usual rounds through the roadways, will happen upon a village that's been completely destroyed, while the wildlife around it grows increasingly aggressive, and the rangers seek to find the cause.
The rangers all wear basically the same leather/hide armors, they look like this.

(he doesn't wear the helmet or armor at court, of course, but in battle)

weapon: ebony bow, inscribed with Old Talic symbols(denoting speed and courage), with steel arrows. He uses castle-forged steel short sword and dagger for melee combat.
magic: spells: heal self, heal other, call familiar, call of wind(grants the user speed for two minutes)
features: thin beard/thick five o'clock shadow, sharp features. Has various nicks and scars from battles and fights. He has a medium/fit build.
personality: kinda gruff, stoic, but also easy to get along with, and courageous
background: is the Lord Ranger to the East. He's third in line for inheriting House Malen's seat at Slatekeep, and knowing he wouldn't be rightful heir in his lifetime, he "took to the wilds" and joined with the Rangers of the Way, slowly climbing the ranks, and he'll soon be Lord Apotheus when Sir Valys Drennard(the current Lord Apotheus) dies.

weapon: Lightning bow and arrow: the Bow looks as if lightning were made solid and forged into the shape of a bow. it has a unique power.When used it can stun the target of the arrow with a nasty shock. And Thunder blade: it releases a deafening sound when it strikes a foe and lets lose a shock that paralyzes the attacked.
magic: Healing spell and lighting attack. Can turn into a wolf or a human wolf hybrid.
facial/body features:Yellow eyes Grey hair, tanned skin but one scar on his side.
personality:Good to his allies. Sometimes has a pack mentality. Hates the evil of the land.
background:Bitten at the age of 15 he had to leave his home village and over ten years has learned to control his primal urges. While he was gone his village was destroyed by a pack of Werebears that the village had had trouble with.

Most of the rangers are rangers by title only, and can be any class. They can use any weapon they want, but it's important that they carry a bow, and know how to use it.
