steampunk story stuff

ITT i'm going to be putting up ideas for my forthcoming steampunk story

other ideas are welcome

plot: okay, this is gonna be about a few factions clashing together, each trying to get this mythical artifact called the Godhead, which is this mechanical sword whose blade is a glowing crystal, and it's said to hold immense power. One faction believes that there is a doom-filled, supernatural force that's about to erupt and destroy the world, and they're searching for the Godhead to stop it. One faction, which is a rich family, is trying to find the Godhead for their own gain, to become the richest and most powerful family. The last faction is the Brotherhood of Mythic Preservation, and they're trying to stop the other two factions from finding the Godhead, "lest they misuse its power and doom us all"
But this story will focus on the first faction, which is a group of friends, as they search for the Godhead, while also battling the other two groups.

setting: London, England 1801. *this is sort of alternate-Victorian England where there's all this steam-powered technology

well the story won't be centered around a ship as much as Massetiah is. I don't want there to be too much overlap

I was just gonna suggest the ship as a mode of transportation or just as sufficient background for the guy.
