~the next morning, in the dragon academy~

(the riders approach the recently-christened Chief Faulda, who is sitting on a barrel in the middle of the arena)
Ralof: What do you want, Faulda? Why did you summon all the riders?
Faulda: ...ahem!
Ralof: ....rrr, fine! "Chief" Faulda.
Faulda: That's better! Now, I've gathered you here today to decree unto you a special Dragon Challenge! I have placed a black sheep atop Odin's Peak, the tallest mountain on Halfbark.
Kara: Uh...we know it's the tallest mountain. We...live here.
Faulda: I'm not done talking yet! Whoever brings it back here to me will be known as the best rider in the village!
Ralof: But....I'm the leader of the Dragon Academy! I'm suppose to issue challenges! Why are you doing it?
Faulda: I'm bored.

Faulda: If it's so easy, why aren't I seeing a black sheep right here? Oh, and it's marked with a special paint, so I'll know if you just nab one from the farm.
Ralof: ...Fine, I'll play along with your stupid contest. I'll be right back with that stupid sheep. *hops on Whispwing, and takes off for the highlands in the center of the island*
Kara: No way, that sheep is mine! *gets on Typhoon, and chases after Ralof*
Faulda: Olaf, shouldn't you be at work, delivering letters?

(Whispwing gains speed and passes Magnus, then Kara speeds past them both, and Typhoon roars)
Kara: Wooo, I'm gonna win! Enjoy the sight of my backside!

Thunderthorn approaches Typhoon, with Eira giving Kara a massive grin before the skrill passes them both.

(Typhoon rears up to fire a sonic boom at Thunderthorn, but Ralof speeds past her doing rolls in the air)
Kara: Woah...he's still got it!
(Ralof overtakes Eira, then spins around on Whispwing's back to face her)
Ralof: There's a reason I'm the best rider on Halfbark! Hey, possibly the whole world! Someday I'll show them that. *turns around, and speeds off to the mountain*

Her dragon roars as lightning covers its body to speed up and start to overtake Whispwing.
