Mana!

The world was relatively young, civilization had finally set in its roots to forge a path towards a greater future. At the time, rune magic had been well-developed and was the current standard for ethereal manipulation. The worlds top mages were slowly recognizing however, that a new energy source was gaining strength somewhere within the planet. Its presence was felt more strongly in some places than others, so it was yet to be a universal power. Needless to say, recovery parties have been digging where the frequencies of the new found power resonated the strongest in hopes of being the first to uncover it and use it for their own gains.

This is all unknown to the every-man however, and so that brings us to our chaotic beginning...

~An Inn in Battleon, of course~
Zera:I said I wanted some alcohol, now GIVE IT FAT MAN! *slams a fist on the counter*
:You're just a kid though, we don't just hand this stuff out to teenagers and the like, or we'd be fresh out before the adults could-
Zera:I don't care. Give me a keg or I'll rip your face off. I can't believe I've let you waste an hour of my time. Screw this.

Zera draws Plague and slashes at the inn keeper, who parries it with an axe. Shortly after Zera detonates a fire rune on him, and grabs a keg for himself before leaving the inn to burn down behind him.

Zera:Asshole. *drinks down a few mouthfuls of ale* This tastes like shit....*throws it at a passerby and sighs* All that frustration for nothing. *shakes his head as guards begin arriving*
Guard:*walks up to him* Hey you, you're gonna have to come with us. Unless you can pay off that inn.
Zera:*blinks* Like hell I will.

As the Guard begins to reply, Zera slices him in half with plague, becoming drenched in blood, before turning to the rest of the guards and charging at them, tearing them apart before resigning the rest of the town to a similar fate.

The Battle twins were walking through BattleOn, Fierce balancing a run-of-the mill great sword over her shoulders and Gentle rummaging through a satchel hung across her chest.

Fierce: you really should just get into swordplay. it's a lot more cost effective than a bag of runes.
Gentle: Shut up! I hate swords, they're dangerous.
Fierce: Yeah, that's why they're WEAPONS. They're DESIGNED to be dangerous.

The area where Zera tore apart the town is terraformed by Plague, whose busy absorbing the life essences of the dead.

Zera:*leans against a destroyed building* How much longer are you going to take? It can't be that hard to drink blood.
Plague:It's a far deeper process than that! After all, one has to-
Zera:*looks skyward, uninterested, closing his eyes* Shutup, don't wanna hear it.
Plague:Alright. Maybe you'd like to hear about a couple of people in town with particularly delicious-looking souls.
Zera:....oh?
Plague:They're around. Can't pinpoint their location but there somewhere nearby.
Zera:Yeah, but it'd be two versus one, doesn't see fair to me.
Plague:We'll see how it goes....ok, done. *melts into Zera's body*
Zera:That's still gross, no matter how you do it. >,> *walks away from the carnage as people watching rush into their homes before fleeing with their belongings*

Gentle: besides, with all these runes, I could probably take on an army.
Fierce: So? My entire sword's runic, what your point?

Zera walks past them and pauses as Plague notifies him of the "deliciousness" of their souls, and he turns to them.

Zera:Hm. Wait a sec. You girls seems kind of different from normal cannon fodder. Especially if you have weapons like that without needing real armor. Pretty sure runic weapons are pretty pricey too. So my question is, why the hell are you two in a place like this? *looks over the roof of another building to see a building collapse in the distance* About time that one fell. >,>

Fierce: Originally we were here to get horses for ourselves, but we're not exactly sure what we want now.
Gentle: I wanna go home, is what I want.
Fierce: Quit whining.

Zera:Huh.
Plague: (Kill them!)
Zera:>,> (Fuck 2v1.) Well, you definitely won't find a place to buy horses from anymore. Besides, I'd think rich girls would have horses already.

Fierce: We're not rich, we're just spoiled goddesses.
Gentle: Our mother just wants us to be terrestrial bodied gods and not worshiped as something celestial. Or worshiped at all. >.> So let's go home. 8turns away from them and walks away*
Fierce: Fine. *turns and follows Gentle*

Zera:-.- Glad I thought a little bit about that engagement. *walks away* Holy shit I would've died. >,> *swings his sword in an arc and the energy from Plague levels the builds in the arc* This town fucking sucks.

A force blows lighter objects away, creating dangerous debris. Zera stabs his sword into the ground and sits behind it so as not to be blown away. The area takes on a blue tint, becoming saturated with magical energy before the entire area is rapidly converted into a living mass of flesh.

Zera:What'd I do?
Plague:Nothing. This is a common thing. You released magic energy, the universe attempted to replace the lost energy with new energy. It seems there's a new kind of energy being created by the universe though. As you can see by the terraformation rate, it's quite potent.
Zera:Gross. I liked runic energy more. >,>

Fierce: Did you just feel a flux in energy levels just now?
Gentle: yeah, that was weird.

Plague:We should find the source! Keep it all to ourselves!
Zera:Heh, sounds like a plan. *gets up and pulls Plague from the ground*
Plague:I've been sensing the same energy whisper through the layers of the earth, but I just thought it was in my head.
Zera:Surely the drakel and those who are magic-savvy know where it may be coming from.
PLague:Yes...let's start killing people until we get answers!
Zera:Well, maybe interrogate them first?
Plague:That too!
Zera:*looks at a map* Let's go to the next closest inn. It'll take a while...but we might get there.
Plague:Why not ask those women to accompany us? We could assassinate them when the time's right.
Zera:*looks toward them briefly, then to the map* Hm. I don't really like underhanded tactics like that Plague.
Plague:It'll be worth it, trust me.
Zera:Hm....fuck.

Fierce: Let's get back there.
Gentle: You go, I don't care.
Fierce: <.<

At the area that was infected with Plague, Courtney and Britney are kneeling down and Britney's poking the pile of flesh with a stick.
J.S: What do you suppose it is?
Courtney: No idea, whatever it is, it's gross.... I say we should find what caused this.
J.S: You sure that's a good idea?
Courtney: I never said it was a good idea, I said we should do it.

Zera shrugs and walks over to the Battles.

Zera:I know you felt that, and the crazy energy it left behind for a bit. I think it's worth looking into, what do ya say? I think it might be worth our while. I only ask if you guys want to come because there's no telling where that came from, and there's safety in numbers.

Fierce: I guess so. Any kind of energy like that would be definitely worth having. *her hair turns pink and she gets an insane look on her face* All the better to turn the world to chaos with! *gets knocked out by a now blue haired Gentle*
Ezridus: Down girl.

Zera:._.
Plague(from afar): That's why they're delicious!
Zera:>,> (God, I feel like I'm the only normal one here...and that's pretty bad.) *sighs and shakes his head* God...

Ezridus: Sorry, the girls you met before are just our hosts. Mom and dad wanna "seal" us because we came close to destroying the world last time the two of us fought. big deal, she started it all.

Britney: *Looks up to see Zera, Fierce and Gentle off in the distance* Huh, that looks interesting.... Oh well, probably has nothing to do with this. *Goes back to poking the pile of flesh*
J.S: >.>

Plague:*wiggles* Hey, don't touch there! >,>
Zera: Oh, so they're just normal girls who contain you? Was there a raffle?

Britney: Did something just speak to us?
Courtney: I didn't hear anything. Keep poking it.
J.S: Can you two stop? >.>

Another warrior is also checking out the area.
??:What happened here?*looks at the trio of girls * (Did they do this?)

Gentle: *powers down* No, we're rebirths of the original bodies. their souls are just residing within us.

Zera:Oh, ok. That makes sense. So, guess you guys'll be going with me then? ^ ^
Plague:Tell these girls to stop poking me!
Zera:>,>

J.S sighs as she grabs Britney's and Courtney's shirts and drags them away.
J.S: Next time we stumble upon a pile of flesh, don't poke it. It's fucking gross.

Fierce: *gets up* Ow, my neck.
Gentle: Sure, we've got nothing else better to do.
