UNSC Infinity, Epsilon Eridani system

A lone Phantom dropship approaches one of the many hangers the massive human ship contains; and under normal circumstances the 32 meter long dark purple ship would have been shot down by the Infinity's point defense weapons before it could even appear as a tiny speck to the occupants inside the hanger, but given who it belonged to and its mission here, it was brought aboard.

It all started several weeks ago the Sangheili leader, Arbiter Thel 'Vadam proposed to the UEG government and its military leaders in the UNSC security council about an "exchange program" of sorts in order to promote peaceful relations between his faction and humanity. The reaction was mixed, with the most vocal one against the idea was ONI Rear Admiral Serin Osman for....unspecified reasons, with the biggest supporter for it, Fleet Admiral Lord Terrence Hood, managing to convince the other members of high command to pass the idea, and as a result one sangheili was to enter a squad of Spartan-IVs each and vice-versa, starting on the flagship for humanity, the UNSC Infinity.

After less than a minute, the Phantom gently floats through the shielding keeping the atmosphere inside and hovers several dozen feet above the ground as a gravity lift along its underside activates, allowing a Sangheili wearing black Ranger armor with a crimson visor to float down onto the ground and is greeted by half a dozen rifle barrels courtesy of a squad of marines before the figure in the center, a female Spartan-IV wearing teal Venator armor with yellow highlights, raises her hand to make them stand down as she approaches.
(My Spartan's name): (My Sangheili character's name)? Commander Palmer requested for me to escort you over to Deployment Hanger 2-19.

After quite some time traversing the massive ship, the two finally arrive in said hanger bay finding Commander Sarah Palmer standing in the middle of the empty room while looking over the two, with quite noticeable contempt as she looks over (my Sangheili character's name).
Commander Palmer: Spartan, out of all the new Spartans that were transferred onto the Infinity within the past three months, not only were you able to achieve the highest scores in every War Games match you participated in, you quickly and effortlessly ascended to the highest ranking. But out of all of your kills with every weapon and every vehicle, one stood out the most.
With that, a large section of the floor opens as a platform rises carrying the unmistakable form of a Mantis mech.
Commander Palmer: You're here because your performance with a Mantis surpasses nearly every other weapon you use. But apparently the Eggheads thought that the Mantis wasn't "fast" or "versatile" which made it easy for the alien freaks following Jul 'Mdama to exploit and destroy them, so they decided to rebuild the mech from the ground up. Which gives us this toy.
Another section of the floor opens to reveal a new mech standing several meters taller than the Mantis as well as having a more recognizable humanoid form instead of the silly chicken walker design of the Mantis.
Commander Palmer: This, as the Eggheads in the Science Team calls it, is the Titan mech. And this Spartan (Sarge's Spartan's name), the sole member of Fireteam Crimson back during the Requiem Campaign.
A hatch opens on the Titan mech and a female Spartan in (blank) armor drops down from inside the cockpit and walks up behind Palmer.
Commander Palmer: Spartan (my Spartan's name), Squidhead, she will be both your instructor and your squad leader.

Another section of the floor opens to reveal a new mech standing several meters taller than the Mantis as well as having a more recognizable humanoid form instead of the silly chicken walker design of the Mantis.
Palmer: This is the Titan Mech, Atlas unit.

Yukon: What the hell is that thing?

Okay, okay. Good and perfectly reasonable changes. Except one thing.

If my assumption is correct and that the two franchises take place in the same universe, your character Yukon, unless his section of the galaxy has been hiding in a giant cave for the past 33 years, he should know what were the races that made up the Covenant

solution: the IMC and whatever's in Halo live in VERY different parts of the universe. I'm talking lightyears of distance. This also makes sense, since the IMC was never in the wars in Halo, and the sangelihaighi were never in the war between IMC and Militia.

Unless they came from a wormhole or something that leads to another universe, that still wouldn't work. Humanity had 800 worlds all across a single arm of the galaxy, and the Covenant was able to find and destroy a majority of them. For a planet or a small group of planets to be completely oblivious to an empire/cult of genocidal aliens for over 30 years...I honestly have absolutely no idea how anyone would be completely unaware of them.

Okay, this is where things get into my intellectual domain......

The Titanfall planets exist in the opposite end of the galaxy, and the IMC developed instantaneous travel across supermassive distances utilizing controlled wormhole technology, using radiation and other pulses from the Halo planets as a point with which they used, along with the center of the galaxy, to triangulate their position and travel to it in hopes to discover new, alien life.

I'm also assuming this takes place after the events of Halo, which I assume ends with peace. Anyway, the Titanfall humans made first contact with the Halo humans years ago, but has made minimal personal contact until now. They've only heard about the alien races through description and haven't actually been in the same room until now

Well......yes and no to that peace thing...........

Yes because Arbiter Thel Vadam is working his people towards a peaceful coexistence and most of humanity's political and military leaders wanting the fighting to stop as well.
No because there are idiots like Osman's predecessor and mentor on the human side that has been giving weapons to sangheili who want Thel dead with the Osman and her predecessor's reasoning of "Let's kill the only guy that wants peace with us because there can never be peace with them" which eventually results in said Jul Mdama forming an army to finish off humanity.

Hmm, well I suppose it does.

So about the plot...
I was kinda thinking about it be somewhat akin to Titanfall's campaign with elements of Halo mixed in. Maybe. Though I'm open for something more original.

dude I don't even know Titan's campaign. I played through it and still don't know what the fuck went on. But it's IMC versus Militia, that's pretty much it. But we can fight that Osmun's Predecessor thing

Considering that Osman's predecessor, some old hag named Parangosky, was the head of ONI (naval intelligence)....I'm not sure that'd happen....
But that does give me an idea on who they could be against

Well then, it's an Insurrection group (essentially anti-UNSC/UEG militia) but they find out that things seem to be very wrong when the group is not only fighting alongside Covenant species, but they're using UNSC commando tactics and even the newest tech. I'm not sure if I should be giving out anything else with this.
