Liatrus Odyssy

(In the world of Liatrus, in the city of Carricus; a bustling, industrious city build around three clustered, narrow, short mountains, set in an arid climate in between a desert and a grassland. Built upon structures and bridges in between the three mountains is the Royal Aviation Academy, where all professions of airship crewing are taught. Around the academy, on all sides of the mountains, is the Carricus Skyport, the largest in the world. Down on the ground, nestled around the bases of the mountains, lies the city itself. A vertical trolley descends from one of the mountainsides, into the station, and out steps one Eliza Maron, a newly graduated and certified sky captain, and on her shoulder, a small sparrow perches.)
Eliza: *looks around* Now then Rusty, where do you think we should start looking for a crew? .... You're no help at all. Well, in all the adventuring novels, the groups of heroes always meet in taverns. So why not head there?
(Eliza wanders purposefully to the nearest pub, and looks around)
Eliza: Tavern, pub...what's the difference?

On the stree wherein lies the pub, Simon was wandering the area being followed by a shining brass automaton carrying a bunch of books.

Simon: Hmmm. Where could I go for a coffee or something around here? Truthfully, I've never been outside the noble areas. Though I suppose a coffee house wouldn't be somewhere around here. Hmmm. Maybe I could get a drink from that pub? Assuming they serve anything than alcohol at... *pulls an exquisitely orante solid gold pocket watch from a pocket of his and opens it* A time like this... *puts the pocket watch away as he heads into the pub with the automaton following*

As she enters a teen accompanied by a clockwork hound passes by the pub.
Grover:Can;t wait to build my own clockwork companion.
the Hound looks up at him as if to say why make you own if you have me.
Grover: Oh come on Cogs I have to.

(inside the pub, Eliza sits down at the bar)
Eliza: Gimme a pint of Brasshead Porter, please.
bartender(cockney accent): Sure thing, love. *pours her a glass*
Eliza: Do you...know where I can find an airship crew?
bartender: D'you lose 'em?
Eliza: No, but I hope to find one!
bartender: Errr, sorry love. Don't know nothin' about that.

Simon: Hmmm. *sits next to Eliza and turns to his automaton* Errr. Solomon, do you have a menu at all?
Solomon prints out a menu from his mouth.
Simon: Er... Thank you. *takes the menu out Solomon's mouth and looks it over* Hmmm. I suppose a simple beer might do. If you could be so kind, sir bartender?

bartender: Err...what kind? And how'd that Cog get one of our menus? Didn't even know we 'ad menus...

Simon: Honestly, I didn't either. And um... Which ever beer is good, I suppose.

Eliza: Er, sorry...can I suggest something like a hard cider? Beers are..an acquired taste.

Simon: Hmmm. Sure, I'll go with the cider.

bartender: Sure thing. *pours him a glass*

Eliza: Eliza Maron. Officially certified sky captain at your service! And you are?

While the two of them enjoy a booze. The boy and the clockwork arrive at the shop they were headed for.

Grover: Dad we're back.
Jarvis: Good are you ready?

Simon: Oh, I am Simon Magan Lazuli, Earl of the Duchy of Windveil. But I'd just prefer to go by Simon, really. Reciting my full name and title is kind of a drag. And members of the court do it all the time. Honestly, why does anyone bother remembering that? What your title is shouldn't really matter so much as your name, right? Not like anyone off the street goes up to someone and says "Hey there! I'm Jonathan and I manage a bakery in this town!" *sighs*

Eliza: Ehhh...*a bit daunted by this sudden rant, she searches for the first thing that comes to her mind* Well, Simon's an...interesting name for a girl. It has a...certain charm to it!

Simon: Oh, uh... I'm not exactly a girl. The men in my family have all looked rather feminine since my great grandfather. It's okay though, I see it as appearing more youthful and energetic. Which are good traits to have. ^ ^

Eliza: Uh! Well uh....heh...glad I didn't offend you! So Windveil's a long way away. What brings you to the big city?

Simon: Oh, I was studying here to build airships and airship weaponry to innovate Windveil's military for my father. He just wants to spend tax money on showboating a powerful army, I suppose.

Jarvis walks in carrying a cage and his clockwork hound isn't far behind.
Jarvis: Hey Barkeep I have your Order here. I would have sent my son but he's working on a project.

bartender: What ye doin, guv? I said deliveries 'round back. Can't have stuff like this 'appenin' in the storefront.
Eliza: Did you say airships? Why, I happen to be looking for a gallant crew to...crew...my...airship! Yes! Because I absolutely have an airship!

Simon: Oh! Really?! I've always wanted to go on an adventure! Just like the Captain Charlie novels!

Eliza: You know, the position for first mate is currently open. What do you say?

Jarvis: I figured your patrons would enjoy this.*uncovers the cage to reveal some clockwork birds. And under the cage are slots for gramophone recordings.*

Simon: Oh, certainly! I'd love to be your firstmate, Eliza.

Eliza: Excellent! Now that that's settled, you should know that I don't have an airship...

(the patrons of the pub notice the notice the bird cage, and gaze in wonder)
bartender: Ah, fine then.

Simon: You don't have an airship? Well surely we can go buy one, right? Mustn't be all that hard to find in a place like this.

Jarvis goes to set it up.
Jarvis:Does anyone have a recording of their favorite song?
