(an old man, with a long, knotted beard, and shrouded in grey-and-black robes steps from the shadows of the fire)
man: You come in here, to disturb my operation, unprovoked?
Del: These bandits have been preying on the innocent for months. They deserved this justice.
man: YOU DESERVE FIRE!
(the old man waves his arms over the fire, and steps back, and it turns into a huge fiery golem, which advances on the group)

Kukri: Anyone know any water spells? *hides behind Jessica*

Jessica: I don't.... ._.u
Hesitating, Jessica collects some water from the air and hurls it at the fire golem, only for it to boil away before it can even touch it.
Jessica: Not good. Q.Q

Zera:*sits up, rubbing his head* Augh, god, what was tha...*blinks while looking at the golem* Well fuck. Any ideas? I don't think I want to get close to that. Me and being set on fire don't really mix that well.

Gale: There's only one thing to do. Attack the summoner. The golem's existence is tied to him.
Del: Right! You guys take care of the wizard. I'll distract the golem! *runs over to the fiery form, banging on his shield with his mace*
(the golem punches a fiery hand into the ground, just in time for Del to dodge, holding his shield desperately between him and the flames)
Del: Go! Now!

Kukri: Right. Here goes nothing. C'mere! *runs toward the wizard, poising her sword to stab him*

(the wizard only generates a magical shield, which he hurls at Kukri, but Gale jumps and tackles Kurki out of the way)
Gale: He seems to be using most of his magic to sustain the golem...he can only cast magical shields...

Zera:Perhaps if we all attack at once, from different directions? Or one at a time in quick succession, I mean...*pauses, as he is retrieving his blade nearby, which is embedded in the ground from him swinging it downward*...afterall, no point in running into barriers like idiots.

Gale: Perhaps. Or you could distract him while I sneak around and shoot him in the back. Either way, we should do it quick. That guy's close to being roasted in his own armor.

Kukri: Well fine then. *runs at the wizard* Lemme at you, you coward!

wizard: Lemme think about that-NO! *blasts another magical barrier at Kukri*
(Gale slinks off into the shadows, notching an arrow)

Jessica creates a psychic barrier to block the wizard's attack at Kukri and counters by lifting a large boulder from the ground and hurling it at him.

Kukri: Ergh! I hope I hit you, you old fogey! *slashes at him* Raaaaaaaaaah!

Zera, figuring now is a good a time to attack as any, charges at the summoner from a different angle, closing distance a little with his little shadow dash ability, lunging while swinging his sword in an attempt to assault him.

(the wizard doubles back, obviously not prepared for that assault, and falls over, then the golem dissipates)
Del: *coughs* Ugh...finally.

Jessica: About time the geezer died....

Kukri: We should get some help.
:My, looks like I'm late for the party that was thrown here. What a shame.
Kukri: Huh? *turns and seels a tall, slender man in a red fancy suit and walking with a black cane* Who're you?
Stephano: You may call me Stephano. Looks like you're all in a group here. lucky for you, I'm in a very gracious mood. Why don't we all go to my place. no less than a day's travel from here by my wagon.
Kukri: Wagon?.? Jessica, what's a wagon?

Del: Right. Now where is-
Gale: THE TREASURE!
Del: I was going to say the remaining bandits.
(Gale picks the lock of a huge, but shoddy chest, and inside is a pile of gold coins, some jewels, a shining longsword, steel, jewel-encrusted gauntlets, and a golden half-helm)
Gale: woah...such riches...
Del: *searching through one of the bandit's corpses, and pulls out a piece of parchment* Hmm...By the gods...it's a message! Battleon's been invaded and taken over by some unknown warlord, and Artix has been beheaded, and all the guardians slaughtered....

Jessica: A wagon? It's just a cart pulled by horses that people use to get to places faster than walking. Why? You wanna ride it?

Kukri: Wait a minute, is that a sword there? *tosses the sword she was holding aside and takes the long sword in the chest* Yes, it even has a strap on it. *puts it over her shoulder* Great.
Stephano: Hmmmm. Quite a motley group. And old Arty's been beheaded. About bloody time, I'd say. Also a bit of a shame that the guardians of battleon were defeated. We must go and see what the situation there is like then. Allow me to join you all. We can go to my castle.
KFierce: Castle? Woohoo! A real castle!

Gale: A castle, eh? *jumps to Stephano's side, grinning widely* Lead the way, then! Oh, and can we get some help moving our new riches?

Stephano: Sure. Just put the loot in the back of the wagon.

Gale: Great! Get to it, Del.
Del: ....-_- *goes to heft up the chest, and carries it outside*
Gale: Now lead the way! *holds Stephano's arm*

Stephano: my, you've grown quite warm in a short period of time, little lady. I don't mind at all. ^ ^ Come along. *walks with Gale out of the cave* Can't keep Jimbo and Sancho waiting long.

Gale: Who are Jimbo and Sancho?
