Intrepid Love: A Star Wars Story

voice: There she is!
Talin: Uh-oh...
A small metal contraption lands on the ground near Talin's feet, and sends out cables that bind them and cause her to trip over. Then the crowd parts as Quasar Gangsters approach her wielding blasters
gangster: You owe us five crates of spice, pink-skin!

Rika: She's not the zeltron you're looking for, Quasars. So back off before I start shooting. *Draws her blaster on them*

gangster: Uh...guys, maybe this is the wrong person...
gangster 2: Shut up, you. Boys!
The gangsters all aim their blasters at Rika
lead gangster: Listen, human. I'm gonna guess you bought this ship with the credits you got from selling all the spice. We'll be taking that ship.
Talin: Rika, just get in the ship and go!

Rika: I'm not leaving without you. *Turns to the gangsters* I'll say this again, you got the wrong person. Now leave.

lead gangster: ...You know what...maybe we did get the wrong person...*scratches his head*
gangster: I told you!
lead gangster: Huh. *unties Rika* Sorry, miss.
The gangsters depart
Talin: *gets up and dusts herself off, cautiously approaching Rika* What...was that?

Rika: It was obviously the blaster and the tough girl attitude.

Talin: If you say so...*boards the ship and goes into the cockpit, sitting down in the pilot's chair and instantly getting a feel of the controls* Ooh...double-inverted quad controls! I bet I can do a quantum coil with this thing!

Rika: Is that even a real thing?

Talin: See, it's this piloting maneuver I came up with! *gets visible excited and bubbly as she explains this* I use the hyperdrive and the grav-tension brakes at the same time, and pull of this weird corkscrew where we end up behind the ship chasing us! It was my signature move when I was a smuggler for Quasar. Well...when I could get it to work...it was rare when I was piloting a ship for them that had a functioning phase shifter for the hyperdrive. Without that, I can't do it.

Rika: That sounds like it'll tear the ship apart.

Talim: Sometimes it does. But sometimes it doesn't! ^^ Okay, let's go! *starts the ship up and quickly takes off* Man, I love flying ships when they're not on fire...
The Platinum Star takes off into the sky, being followed by a small, sleek, black ship, but cloaked so that it doesn't show up on radar.
Talim: So...we're gonna be flying together, huh? We should get to know each other, then.

Rika: Well, there's not all that much to know about me, to be honest.

Talin: I'm sure that's not true! You were born here, right? What were your parents like?

Rika: I don't know, I never got to know them.

Talin: Why? What happened?

Rika: I dunno, I just never met them. *Shrugs*

Talin: Eh? So you just grew up in a factory or whatever?

Rika: No, just that warehouse you crashed next to.

Talin: Hm. No wonder you wanted to leave...Oh, so....where do we go from here?

Rika: Anywhere we want to, I guess. What about you?

Talim: I wanna go see Coruscant! Think about it, a whole planet covered in city! How cool is that?

Rika: Where the Emperor is located? I'd rather not be on the same planet as that disgusting old man.

Talin: Why would you care? There's plenty of disgusting old men on any planet. Plus, he's usually off in space doing empire things.

Rika: I know, but the Emperor is just more disgusting than other people, not to mention evil.

Talin: Okay okay, no Coruscant. What about...Naboo? Always wanted to see that place...
