Intrepid Love: A Star Wars Story

Rika: I suppose that we can go there. So anyway, what can you tell me about yourself?

Talin: Oh, well, I don't have a home planet. I was born and raised on a huge freighter. It was eventually attacked by the Quasar Gang, they killed my family and took me. I soon after proved my worth as a pilot so they had me pilot ships for their crimes. *clenches her fists on the controls* and I'm finally out of that life...

Rika: Oh my, that's terrible. I suppose that crash was the best part of your life, then.

Talin: Well we'll see. So far the best parts were growing up on the freighter. Life was tough, but my family made it better...
The Platinum Star rockets off into space
Talin: Okay, get ready. Activating hyperdrive...
An explosion rocks the ship
Talin: What the- oh no...Quasar Gang ships on our tail...okay, quick, get to the turret!

Rika: I thought I told them to get lost? *Rushes up to the turret and aims it at whoever's shooting at them*

Talin: Must be that the boss, Ogdeen, told them to get unlost. Or maybe they knew it was us all along, they just wanted to get us out in the open and not around other civilians...

Rika: Well whatever the reason, they won't be around much longer. *Starts to fire at the ship attacking them*

The ship in question is a big, bulky junker
Talin: *over the comms talking to Rika* That's Quasar Gang, alright. You got this, don't worry!

Rika: Yeah, no problem at all. *Fires at the junker more*

The junker fires upon the Platinum Star, barely noticing the fire from Rika.
Talin: You're gonna have a tough time getting through that ship's armor. Try to aim for its starboard thruster pylon!
The junker fires another shot at the Star, this time aimed at its laser turret, ending in a direct hit

Rika: He's got the gun, we're gonna need something to think of something!

Talin: What if we just hang back, get right next to them, then go into hyperspace? The afterburn's gonna fry them for sure!

Rika: Well we don't have any other options.

Talin: Okay! I can do this! *backs off her speed* I think...
As soon as the Platinum Star gets close to the other ship, it hits them with a laser net grapple that immobilizes the Star
Talin: Those grubby asteroid-lickers! I didn't think they actually had that!

Rika: Please tell me you have another option.

Talin: I need your help! Meet me in the cockpit! *gets out of the seat and hastily opens up a panel in the back*

Rika: *Enters the cockpit* What do you need?

Talin: See this? *points to a switch connected to a circuit* Just hold this switch here and DON'T let go! *hops back into the chair and grabs the controls* We can do this...

Rika: I sure hope you know what you're doing. *Holds the switch*

Talin: Don't let go for any reason! That's the hyperdrive ignition. Gotta do it manually now that we're in their electric tether. *hits the hyperdrive, sending them into warp and blowing up part of the junker in the process* Hahaha! We did it! *throws her arms up in the air*

Rika: So when can I let go of it?

Talin: Oh, any time you want. the auto should have kicked in by now.

Rika: Okay. *Lets go of the switch* We're gonna need to stop at a port to fix that gun. I was honestly hoping we wouldn't have to get it repaired until much later.

Talin: It was my fault, I could have tried to avoid their fire better. You're not hurt, are you?

Rika: No, I'm fine, thank goodness.
