Gale: You'll have time to rest once we're in Battleon.
Del: No. We must be on our guard, and ever-vigilant there. We can't afford to rest.

Stephano: I'm sure we'll be fine in the smelly old sewers.

Del: Yes, but one slip-up and we'll all be heads on pikes.
Gale: Maybe you all will. I'm good at escaping! ;)

Stephano: Good at escaping? Did you have to train yourself to do so?

Gale: Well, let's just say..it was either "learn to escape" or "die". ....

Stephano: Who ever knew the real world for the less fortunate could be so cruel. *hugs Gale* I'm so sorry.
Kukri: Oh quit crying, she's fine,

Gale: *whispering* Shush! I love sympathy! :3 uh...OH, it was terrible! Gruel for dinner and the comfort of rats in the night! Oh, woe is me!

Stephano: Now, I'm sure that latter bit was made up.
Kukri: What makes you say that?
Stephano: She should have at least had shelter.

Gale: Pff! The jail cell was my shelter!

Jessica: *Sighs a little* I guess I should just stay behind.... I'm not that much use without my powers.....

Kukri: I'm sure you can be of use, Jessica. *hugs her*
Stephano: You were in jail? Why?

Gale: Er....let's just say it was a disagreement between me and a museum over the ownership of a certain priceless artifact....But it's not important! The important thing is I have someone rich and powerful to look after me! ^^

Jessica: Well I guess I could stay around and help boost morale. *Smiles a little and hugs Kukri*

Del: What about your sword? Surely you can still use that.

Stephano: Well I wouldn't say I'm very powerful.
Kukri: She probably meant your influence.
Stephano: Oh, right. I am the duke of Cobbleton.
Kukri: You're a lord too?!
Stephano: That's right.
Kukri: Then why band with us?
Stephano: I need a little adventure. And Lady Gale here inspired me to do so. ^ ^
Kukri: Great work Gale, your butt kissing made a noble slack off on their important duties.

Gale: HEY! I'm sure he left all his important work with some assistant or something. Plus, what's more important than adventuring with me? :3

Kukri: I dunno, guarding his money from you?

Gale: Quiet, you!

~outside Battleon~
(the city's walls are lined with pikes, and the heads of Guardians skewered on them. After a bit of searching, they finally find the access to the sewers)
Gale: Okay...who's going in first?
Del: That would be me. *crouches down to crawl into the sewer tunnel*

Stephano: How brave of you.
Kukri: Well, men go first.
Stephano: I suppose that's fair. *goes in after Del*

Jessica sighs a little as she bends over to climb up into the sewer and starts crawling in after them.

Kukri: Well I'll go last. You go on ahead, Gale.

~the main cistern of the sewers~
(the heroes are greeted immediately by the pungent scents of mildew, rat droppings rotten wood)
Gale: Ah, here it is. Home, sweet home. *rolls her eyes*
Del: It'll have to do.

Kukri: Yeah. Let's just get this over with.

Del: What do you mean? We're here for a while, to spy on things happening in the city.

Kukri: Oh, i thought you meant killing the rats.
