Not Just Another Lore Story

So we open up at Starylus because we can. It is busy and beautiful, not a cloud in the sky. In the market place Proxzki sits on a bench sorting through wares bought with a small allowance given to him by his Guild. He draws from it a basic wand with iron tips on either end, looking around and to the inn he would be spending the night at, before scanning the market around him. Such a strange world, though where he comes from is more or less forgotten at this point.

Jun was wandering through the market place carrying bags of fresh produce when he spotted the bench Proxzki was sitting on and sat next to him.

Jun: Phew. Shopping in Starylus is tiring. I've never been to a market place that was so big before.

James and his panther are also in the market place. James carrying a big pack of provisions and a new quiver filled with Arrows.

James: Room for one more?

Jun: Uh, I don't think so. At least not comfortably.

James:This city is freakin' huge. took me and Gwen here an hour to find the weapon shop and the Market place.*rubs the panther between the ears*

Proxzki:Yeah....pretty large. It feels very crowded though. I don't think I could live here.

James looks at Jun.
James:Are you a mirmi? I always thought they were wild?

Jun: *shakes his head, flopping his ears as he does so* Nope. Some Mirmi live in cities to work and have families. I knew a few that were like that in Lux Santora, where I grew up. Although, most Mirmi are female and I'm male. my dad even said that all Mirmi, no matter what species, are female. Which makes me wonder why and how I'm male. *looks at his feet sadly* It's kinda lonely that way.

James: Well if it helps you are a cute one. My name is James. And the Panther is Gwen.

Proxzki:So neither are you are from here either? Are you currently living here?

James:Well Gwen and I are traveling to find a place of our own.

(a man of average stature wearing a shabby brown suit and hat approaches the group, holding a clipboard with paper on it)
man: (in a simple, honest, sincere, and innocent tone of voice) excuse me, but do you folks mind singing this petition? It's to keep giant bits of metal away from babies. I fear it's a growing problem in this society...all I need is your signature. *proffers his clipboard, and a pen*

Gwen looks at the creature with her ears back.
James:What is it Gwen? Easy girl.

Proxzki:*genuinely curious*....why're giant bits of metal being introduced to babies at all?.?

Jun: But....I'm just a tourist though....Why should I sign a random petition for something that is probably only affecting his city?

Proxzki:Well...I mean it wouldn't be a bad thing to sign something to help a city out. Babies being introduced to giant bits of metal sounds terrible.

James: Yeah. What do you guys think should be done?

Jun: I don't know, but if this was a problem, surely the city would have already done something by now? I mean, Fierce would have done something, right?

James:Oh I've heard of her. She's am amazing Warrior.

Proxzki:Eh, probably. But some stuff goes overlooked, I'm sure. Then again, if it were a prominent problem she'd probably know. Hm. *shrugs*

James:That's true. By they way I never caught your name.

Proxzki:I'm Proxzki....and I think we've spent too much time wondering how babies are being introduced to dangerous metals in a city that is run by a diety.

James:I'm James. And yeah you're right. And something about this guy is aggravating Gwen. When her ears go back like that it means something is wrong.

Proxzki:Animals don't like every person they meet, James. It's not like people like every person they meet.

James: Gwen wasn't like that with you or the Mirmi. There is something off about him.
