Dragons: Adventures in Halfbark

(the scene opens on the coastal village of Halfbark, the second Viking village to embrace dragons not as enemies, but as friends. Then we see a lumber mill on the outskirts of town, where a few yak lug a batch of logs up to the mill.)

And a huge shadow is cast as a Timberjack flies over and lands next to the mill with his rider
Magnus: Ah a good hall my friend*rubs between the dragons horns.*We need to replant some trees to replace what we cut.

(Kara walks out from the forest covered in brush, munching on some berries from a branch from a berry bush she's holding)
Kara: *goes over to Magnus* 'morning, Magnus! How's Slicer doing today?

Magnus: Fantastic. you haven't found your buddy yet? Well if you want some advice. go with a dragon that suits you.

Kara: But how do I know what suits me? Isn't there like some dragon aptitude test I can take? *huffs* I'm the only dragon trainer in Halfbark without a dragon!

Just then, a shadow passes over the two as a skrill flies overhead. As it lands a short distance off, a teenage girl with short, black hair climbs off of the dragon and looks at Halfbark village, petting the skrill's neck.
Eira: Well, this looks like it could be a good place to rest for the next few days; don't you think, Thunderthorn?
The skrill gives a bit of a rumbling growl in agreement.

(Kara notices the girl and her Skrill)
Kara: Woah! Who's that?!

Eira turns her head upon just barely hearing Kara, spotting her along with the other guy and his Timberjack.
Eira: Oh, it's some locals. That should be good, right?

Mangus walks over. His Timberjack crawling over to inspect the young skrill.
Mangus:I'm Magnus Timberfall and that is my buddy Slicer.

Kara: *hiding behind a bush behind Eira, glaring at her* Who are you!

Magnus:She looks like she came from the Berserkers. Why have you come here?

Eira: Uh....my name's Eira and this is Thunderthorn.
The Skrill hisses at the Timberjack to get it to back off.
Eira: Easy there, no need to be so hostile.

Mangus: Yeah my buddy Slicer is just curious.

Slicer backs off.

Kara: Are you really a berserker?! *takes out her knife and holds it out at Eira* Go away!

Mangus: Easy Kara if she wanted to harm us she would.

Kara: She still could at any moment!

Eira let's out a deep breath, no point in hiding it at this point.
Eira: Yes, I used to be a Berserker. I left some time ago, and the first thing I did was ditch everything that would identify me as such, so I don't know how you figured that out.

Magnus:The skrill you're with. It is the symbol of your ex tribe,

Kara: I think it's because you smell so bad. If you really aren't a berserker, prove it!

Eira: So I have a Skrill, so what? It isn't like they're exclusive to Berserk Island.
She turns to Kara, slightly confused.
Eira: How am I supposed to do that?

Kara: Um....I am a bit peckish...have you got any sweet rolls?

Eira: Well....I think I do....
She searches the bag that's tied to Thunderthorn's back and, after a few minutes, pulls one out.
Eira: Yeah. Here's one.

Kara: Hmmm...didn't think that would work...*takes a few cautious steps toward Eira, and hesitantly takes the roll, then steps back a few paces* .....I still don't trust you!

Eira: Well, luckily for you, you don't need to trust me. I'm probably just going to stay here for a day or two before heading to the next island.

Kara: Where are you headed?
