(a flapping of wings and a rustling of leaves is heard from above, as dozens upon dozens of hawks, owls, falcons, and eagles swarm in from the canopy and attack the Hidden Brotherhood, then the sparrow from before flaps down to rest on the bars of the cage near Cyrill, and tweets and expectant tune)

Cyrill: It's actually one of the perks of being able to communicate to avians. Everyone thinks you're crazy and no one tries to take advantage of that ability. *smirks*

The jar containing Mesme rattles violently until the slime bursts out of the jar, roaring angrily and stomping over to the cage before ripping it apart to pick Kyla up and smooch her on the cheek.
