VKRE (RWBY story)

Ellie: Yeah, agreed. Come on, let's find some place to hide before it comes back.

Valerie: Rrr...Fine, go and hide! I'm gonna show you how a real huntress does things! *levitates one of her discs close to the ground, jumps on it, and lifts it (and herself) up to the Nevermore, aiming to launch her other disc into its neck*
(The Nevermore immediately spots Valerie, and with one beat of its wing, it bats Valerie down with a slash of air, and sends out several feathers which slice into her when she hits the ground)
Kara: W-what? Oh no...

Ellie: I got her!
She rushes out towards Valerie, turning invisible as she approaches her fallen teammate and brings her back to cover.

Kara: Is she okay?
Valerie: uunnh...
Kara: Alright, we have to get back to Professor Chim now! C'mon!

Rana: Where do we go from here though?

Kara: Um...anywhere but here! C'mon, *points to the area where the Creep first showed up, and runs that way*

Rana and Ellie both run after Kara, both hoping that the way they're going is the right way towards Haven Academy.

(they come upon a clear cliff, from which they can see the main tower of Haven)
Kara: There it is! *jumps up and down*
Valerie: See...I knew I could lead you guys there...

Ellie: Be quiet, Val... >.>
She jumps down the cliff, with Rana close behind.

Valerie: It's okay, I can run on my own now! You can put me down any time...
Kara: *sees that the Nevermore is still chasing them overhead* Oh no...*fires a few shots at it with her sniper rifle before following Ellie and Rana*

Rana: That thing is still following us? What's it gonna take for us to lose it?

Valerie: We have to kill it.
Kara: How are we gonna do that? It'll beat us down if we try to get close to it.
Valerie: If you guys distract it, I can fly up to it from behind, but I can't hover on my discs for long.
Kara: -_- That's a stupid and dangerous plan...

Rana: Yeah, it's too risky.

Valerie: It's the only way! The Nevermore hunts by stalking its prey and sniping it with its feathers, it's not gonna come down here until we're dead!
Kara: ....*sighs* I guess...

Ellie: Can't we just snipe out its eyes or something?

Valerie: If you think you're a good enough shot. Okay, Kara and Ellie, you shoot at its eyes, Rana, you use your hammer thing to create explosions and distract it so I can get up there and slice its head off!

Rana: And what makes you even think you're capable of doing it?

Valerie: Hey, last time didn't work because he saw me. If you guys distract it enough, it won't see me coming.

Ellie: Forget it, with any luck the Academy would have spotted the nevermore and would send a team of experienced huntsmen to deal with it.

Valerie: What?! No, this is our chance to show them what we can do! I believe in us, why can't you?

Ellie: I can't believe I'm saying this, but fine.

Valerie: Yes! Team VKRE is go! Rana, you create some distracting explosions! Preferably aimed at the beast itself. After you got its attention, shield up so it can't feather you. Then Ellie, you and Kara will shoot the Nevermore's eyes!

Ellie: Yeah, got it.
She takes out her rifle and starts shooting at the nevermore's face while Rana throws out her hammer at the immense bird's chest and wings.

Kara: Well hey, what could go wrong? *transforms her weapon and fires at the Nevermore's face* I don't think our shots are doing much!
Valerie: Don't worry, just keep at it! *stretches in preparation of hovering up* You can do this...you can do this...
(The Nevermore roars, and flies in their direction, getting ready to fire its feathers)

Ellie: Don't even try it....
The wolf faunnus flicks her tail and fires her rifle, this time striking the vile beast right in its eye.
