Catherine: I guess get to that sorry excuse of a ship and go to where he might be?

Gavin: We're bound for Skaavos. Shouldn't be more than a day or two's flight from here. Prepare for a fight, though. These reavers I've heard are pretty tough.
Vix: Affirmative. This unit is combat ready.
Gavin: Got any weapons?
Vix: No weapons other than melee attacks. *smacks her fists together* But this unit is quite potent in that field.
Gavin: Hm, good to know. As long as you can throw a punch, we'll be fine.

Sophie: You guys have fun with that. I'll just be in the galley if we're ever in a fight. I can't stand violence.

Gavin: Hey, that's fine. Not everyone needs to be a fighter!

Catherine: I'll probably give you some weapons of your own so you won't only have your fists, if you'd like.

Sophie: Oh, thank you. I was worried you might turn me away for being against violence.

Gavin: Nonsense! I'm not gonna kick you out, nor am I gonna try and turn you into some cold-blooded killer. You're you, and that's all I can ask for!

Vix: I am unaware of the range of weapons that I am compatible with.

Mark: Vix are there anymore white crystals in the lab aside from yours?

Vix: Unknown.
Gavin: Not like we have time to look around Carricus for one. Seems like he's in trouble with some loan sharks or something. We don't have much time, but it looks like we'll be hot on their trail if we leave now. C'mon, let's go!

~Back in the shipyard~
Gavin leads them all into the Guppy, down below decks
Gavin: Okay, here's a quick tour. Table, galley, bunks, engine room in back. Above that is the helm, and then the deck above us, which you all saw. Got it?

Sophie: Hm. It's rather rustic up close. Lovely.

Vix: Detecting large amounts of rust.
Gavin: No, no Vix. Rust"ic", not rust. Rustic means good! Now, I've ordered a shipment of supplies with the last of the petty cash I had saved up. We should be getting water and base ingredients here soon.
A bell sounds off outside
Gavin: And there we go!
A bit later, after Vix hauls in the shipment, on her last trip hauling in a huge canteen of water
Gavin: Okay, I believe we're about ready to shove off!

Catherine: I still think the ship's garbage...

Sophie: It's a fixer-upper. Everyone loves those, right?

Mark: I can give this ship a good fixing.

Gavin: Exactly! I like your attitude. Now, I'm going to go get this engine started. *goes into the engine room and starts tinkering with things* I...have no idea what I'm doing...Hey Mark, can you come help?

Mark gets his tools and checks out the engine.

A bit later, the engine kicks on, with huge red crystals heating up the water to power the steam engines. The ship rises up slowly.
Gavin: Yes! *goes up above deck and to the help, grasping the wheel* The maiden flight of the Guppy!
The ship halts, still attached to mooring lines, causing everyone to fall over from the jolt
Gavin: ...*gets up, dusting himself off* Okay.... *releases the mooring lines* Sorry about that...

Sophie: You oaf! *rubs her forehead* Ouchies...

Mark: Well the engine's fixed. I'm gonna see what else needs repair.*goes to explore the ship*

Catherine: You okay, Sophie? *Hugs her*

Gavin: Okay, the Guppy's maiden flight take two!
The ship lifts off, up into the air
Gavin: Yes! Hahaha!

Catherine: I'm surprised it can actually fly given the state it's in.

Gavin: Not all that's rusty is junk, Catherine! Remember that, and you'll do well in my crew. Now, why don't you see what you can do with our gun?

Sophie: Yeah, I'm okay. Just a bump on the head from the fall.

Catherine: I'll be lucky if I can even improve it in any meaningful way, but I'll try.
