Layla: Alright, I have done some research about these insects, and I have concluded that these happenings are being caused by an entomancer.
Baird: ...what's an entomancer?
Layla: Actually I just made that up, but theoretically these uprisings are being caused by some sort of powerful spellcaster.

Hana: Well, my mother was a shrine maiden at my home village. She gave it up to be with my father, who was a ronin who had wandered into my village. He always told me how he lost his entire clan and daimyo in a castle siege. My mother was born and raised in my village. My grandmother was a merchant with my grandfather. They made a living selling charms and vases. My aunt married an artist known all over the southern sunrise region for his ukioe, erotic paintings. They both had two children, but I do not see those two often. They are much older than me and are both working adults, from what I've heard. Though I also heard that one works as a prostitute. It is most unfortunate. However, I'm sure she will find a nice mate to settle down with some day.

Okay, let's rewind the story a bit, back before the scorpion poisons Layla. I don't want that to happen, because it would make the story focus too much on Layla. So instead we're gonna poison Chris! Very Happy

(the scorpion lurches toward Chris, its tail ready to fly. The tail darts forward, almost too quick to notice, and punctures into Chris, injecting its poison into him)
Layla: No! *summons her fire elemental*
(the fire elemental, which is a red drake, starts burning the scorpion)
