(more giant spiders pop out from the egg sacs, and skitter toward the tunnel in which Layla and Hanna are sitting)
Layla: I'm going to cast an illusory invisibility spell on us, Hana. Just stay calm and don't make a sound. *her hands glow white, and places one on Hana's shoulder* There. *puts her hands down*

(the spiders pass Layla and Hana and continue on down the tunnel)
Layla: That is odd...
(the spire breaks apart, and the pieces come together to form a gigantic scorpion)
Layla: *not paying attention* Those spiders are going straight to the market!

(the scorpion smashes his claw into a wall, collapsing the tunnel)
Layla: no! *conjures her earth elemental's shell, protecting them both from the collapsing tunnel, so that they're huddled together, under a huge tortoise shell* ...are you alright?

Baird: Ah, this is nothing! *clashes swords with a spider's stinger* Why one time, me and this troll were having a staring contest, and I-*trips over a leg* Ow! *gets up, and jumps onto the spider, plunging his sword into its thorax* Eh, I'll tell ya later.

Baird: I dunno where Layla and that weird pink-haired girl went, but we sure could use some magical support! *rolls under a spider, then thrusts upward into its thorax*

(just then, the turtle shell cracks open as a scorpion stares down at them)
Layla: AH! I thought we were buried? Or perhaps he dug away the dirt over us...
(the scorpion's tail rears up)
Layla: !!! Run! *grabs Hana, and lunges way*
(Layla does this just in time to dodge the scorpion's stinger)

Layla: Hana, it's about to get cold in here! *conjures her ice elemental, which is a huge golem made from ice*
(the golem pounds his fists together, and and opens his mouth, with sharp, icy winds wailing out and slashing at the scorpion, which reels back and staggers. The golem then spreads his wind throughout the chamber, creating a subterranean blizzard)

(the scorpion, having enough, escapes and tunnels to the surface, uprooting many buildings and crashing down market stalls)
