One Piece: Side M

This story will follow the adventures of a pair of marine captains joined together to form the new marine strike force branch, on the direct hunt for notable and dangerous pirates for the protection of the citizenry at large. Insert famous Law and Order SVU intro here.

~Story proper~

We begin on a bright sunny afternoon on the ship of one marine vice admiral Joanne "Crasher" Vermillion. A female cat mink and large man walking into the office and standing before the vice admiral.

Crasher: Good afternoon, you two. Congratulations, each of you, on your fairly recent promotion to the rank of captain. I called you two in here to inform you that due to your exemplary service to the marines thus far, you've been nominated to be the forerunners of a new strike force branch. This new branch is currently an undercover one to the rest of the marine forces. As a strike force, it's your duty to seek out and apprehend dangerous pirates that would become a threat to the common folk if left undisturbed. I'll be given a bounty and information on a certain pirate and relay any useful information I can from the world government to you two for each assignment. The job will be completed once you've dealt with the pirate however you two can. Bear in mind that you'll be watched closely by the five elder stars themselves. The government's betting on your continued success after all. Now then, before I assign you your first mission, are there any questions?
Lucie: Do we get a portion of the bounty as payment?
Crasher: Yes. On top of your pay rate, you'll be rewarded the bounty rates. Anything else?

Mark: When do we start and where do we go?

Crasher: *places a bounty for ten thousand berries on the desk before her* This is your first job. Pirate captain Austin "Cannonball" Reach of the Reach pirates. Sources say he's in possession of the pangolin pangolin fruit so he's capable of forming a tough scaley exterior and is known for boarding and capsizing vessels by launching himself from a specialized cannon. I have faith in your skills in particular, Mark, so don't disappoint me.
Lucie: Any leads on his whereabouts?
Crasher: His ship, The Shrew was last seen docked at Honey Island. You could start there. Ask around, whatnot.
Lucie: Yes ma'am.
Crasher: Alright. You two may be dismissed to direct the helmsman to Honey Island. My ship and its resources are yours to use now.
Lucie: *salutes* Understood, ma'am. We'll bring the pirate to justice.

Mark does the same stoic as they leave the office but with a slight smile.
Mark: Yeah our first Mission can you believe it?

Lucie: The world government's watching our moves now. Makes me nervous.

Mark puts a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
Mark: We can do this. plus I get to bust up someone with my powers.

Lucie: And we get to save people. Possibly. *smiles at him*

Mark: How long do you think it will take to get to Honey island?

Lucie: Shouldn't be more than a few days from here. I'm sure the helmsman will give us a better estimate. Shall we go see him now?

Mark: lets.*helps her onto his shoulder as they go to the Helmsman* Helmsmen how long before we reach our destination?

Helmsman: What destination?
Lucie: Could you please steer us to honey island. We're under the vice admiral's authority.
Helmsman: Ahhhh. Aye ma'am. Next stop, Honey island. *steers the ship in its direction* Should the weather hold up, we'll be there within the week.

Marc: Wait Honey Island? Isn't that the place that makes really good candy and honey?

Helmsman: Yes sir. Some of the best taffy in the east blue. So I've heard.
Lucie: And no sweeter honey can be found elsewhere.

Mark smiles and hopes he can get some.
Mark: Nice. Wanna relax or train until we ger there Lucie?

Lucie: Let's do some training, and then relax.

Mark and Lucie head to the training deck.
Mark: Men set up some targets.

The soldiers set up some practice targets for the two.

Mark shifts into his hybrid form scaley skin and armor like back plates sprout out as does a club like tail as well as increasing in size.
Mark: this still takes some getting used too.

Lucie: You'll get used to it, Mark. Do your best.

Mark swings his tail to hit the targets. His tail smashing them to spinters sending a few into the water.
Mark: Did I over do it?

Soldier: A little.
Lucie: Don't worry about it, Mark.

Mark: Still getting used to the tail.

Lucie: Let's see if I can make that electricity come out onto my sword. *quickly unsheathes her sword in a sweeping strike motion, grazing the target, but not producing any lightning* Darn.

Mark: You'll get there. I know it.

Lucie: I'm sure. Practice does make perfect after all.
