Archmage(Reboot)

(opens on a large ivory tower in the middle of a lush birch forest, in the region of Goldenflow. This is Esadan, home of the Wizard's Order. Its exterior is but a simple tower, but on the inside, it features many corridors, great halls, libraries, quarters, and laboratories. Arto and Blossom are ascending a spiral staircase.)
Arto: Hurry, hurry! Argemaious will notice those Basilisk droppings any minute now!

Blossom, a lovely young woman with pink hair, is starting to pant from running up the staircase.
Blossom: I'm running as fast as I can, Arto. It's not my fault that these stairs are so exhausting!

Arto: Heh, it's either get winded or taste fireballs!
(a deep, booming voice echoes through the stairwell, and resounds throughout the confines of the tower, yelling "AARRRRRTOOOOO!")
Arto: *gulps* Did you uh...did you hear something? Hehehe...

Blossom: Just our cue to run faster!
She runs faster, even passing by Arto himself.

Arto: Hey, wait up!
(at the top of the stairs, the two children come face to face with Argemaious himself, an old, old, elf with a long silver beard reaching down to his belt, and wearing faded blue robes.)
Arto: ulp! Uh...goodday, Maester Argemaious.
Argemaious: *his face turns bright red with anger* A wizard should be completely aware of what lie in his robes, and who put it there, at all times. And so he is.
Arto: So...the weather seems nice today.
Argemaious: Come with me, boy. *a talon-like hand snaps forward at blinding speed, and grasps Arto's arm like a vice. He then leads Arto down the stairs*
Arto: Um...bye Blossom...
(out in the courtyard, Argemaious leads Arto to a clearing in the forest, to a large wooden trough, and hands him a large sack.)
Argemaious: It seems to me you require more...responsibility, in order to keep your mind from wandering and your body from following it. So from now on, you will be charged with filling this trough three times a day, and cleaning it after each feeding session.
Arto: Uh...what's in the bag?
Argemaious: Open it to find out, and use it to fill the trough. *looks at the position of the sun in the sky* He would be here soon. I would hurry if I were you. It would be impolite to keep him waiting, and hungry. *walks away, back to the Tower*
Arto: ......*sighs, and walks over to the trough* What was he even talking about? *opens the sack, and finds several dead chickens inside* GAH! *jumps back* What am I even feeding?!

(in Blossom's quarters, a small, brown owl flies up to her window, and perches on the sill.)
Kiko: Ah, goodmorrow, miss Blossom! How are your practices going today?

Blossom: Oh, they're going fine, Kiko. Though things are never fun without Arto around.
She sighs sadly as she looks out the window, beyond the owl.
Blossom: Hope that Maester Argemaious didn't do anything to hurt him.

Kiko: Ah, quite unthinkable! In fact, he just has him feeding Klemmedon!

Blossom: The what? Shit, I need to go and help him.

Kiko: Oh? Klemmedon, the Order's Guardian Dragon? Well, I suppose it couldn't hurt.

(meanwhile, at the feeding trough, Arto fills the trough with the chickens, and turns around to see a gigantic black dragon with glimmering scales staring down at him)
Arto: AH! *falls backward, into the trough, but gets out immediately* DRAGON!
(the dragon bends down, and starts feeding from the trough)
Arto: You...you're what I'm feeding...
(the dragon stops, looks at Arto, and utters, in a deep, ancient voice)
Klemmedon: ziik vo dun, young wyrm. I mean you, the opposite of harm.
Arto: Who are you?!
Klemmedon: Klemmedon, who guards your wizards. I have done so for centuries. Hrmmh, it is still a mystery to me why the higher wizards keep me a secret. Mizzark, I am ancient, and soon to fall. And am....stricken... *starts to waver*

Blossom: Go and find him, and see if he needs help. I don't want to make myself look like a fool by coming to save him when he's not in danger....

(after a while, Kiko flies back to Blossom)
Kiko: Oh, you must come now! Something terrible has happened!

Blossom: What? What happened?

(when they get to the clearing, they come upon Arto running around frantically, in front of the huge carcass of Klemmedon)
Kiko: It must have been his age! *flies over to Arto*
Arto: IT's dead it's dead! Oh gods, what do I do?! What do I do!

Blossom: Arto, what happened?

Arto: I don't know I don't know! It just fell over and died!
(Argemaious wanders over to the clearing, and gasps in shock at the site of the dead dragon)
(cut to a few days later, outside the doors to the Tower, where Arto is slowly walking away, down the path leading out of the forest)

Blossom: Arto, wait!
Blossom runs up to Arto from the tower and smiles at the boy.
Blossom: Don't think you're going anywhere without me. ^^

Arto: Blossom! I didn't think you'd want to join me, knowing what the Archmage told me to do.

She smiles and hugs Arto's arm.
Blossom: What are you, stupid? Of course I'd join you in this, there's no way I wouldn't.

Arto: But...you do know why I'm out here, right? The Archmage told me if I could kill a powerful elder dragon, then I can kill a superpowerful shape-shifting demon up in the Winterlands. But....I didn't kill Clementine! I didn't!

Blossom: Ssh, it's okay Arto. Even if you didn't kill him, I believe that you'll be able to kill this demon. And I'll help you every step of the way.

(Kiko flaps down, and onto Arto's shoulder)
Kiko: And so will I, old friend!
Arto: Kiko! Don't you belong to the Order? Also how did you hear what Blossom said?
Kiko: Not anymore! I tendered my resignation in the form of defecation upon Maester Argimaious' workstation.
Arto: heh?
Kiko: I pooped on his desk.

Blossom: *Giggles* Oh that's funny. Now let's go before Maester Argimaious finds out about that.

(in the town of Elmont, just your average medieval village, Arto and Blossom are walking through the marketplace)
Arto: So I was thinking about getting a sword or something...I was never that great at offensive magic.
