Along the way to their place, a mugger holding a knife approaches Cole and waves it at him
mugger: You! Gimme all your money, right now! Or I'll stab yer little friend here!

The mugger disappears, and ahead of them the street they were walking down is blocked by a building, even though anyone walking down that street could've sword it went on for at least a mile or so.

All he finds there is another building taking the place of the path they used to get there, and they hear laughing coming from nowhere in particular

Several copies of the mugger surround Cole and Peeko, and one of them starts speaking
mugger: You think so? *flicks his knife* Kubota and I are not the only ones who know of this artifact. When our master finds it, he'll be unstoppable, and your new friends are going to find it for us. You two are not needed in this equation, so I was sent to eliminate you.

Cole: Master, eh? So you're working for someone who's too cowardly to take us on himself, eh? Typical.

The surrounding muggers disappear and take the form of psychic energy that blasts Cole from all angles around him.

All the muggers now attack with pipes, bats, and other blunt objects. They strike Cole and Peeko repeatedly

The electricity does nothing to the muggers, and they keep attacking
voice: Haha! These are nothing but projections your mind thinks are real! But the pain your mind is experiencing, and the damage your body is taking...that IS real! And be careful with that discharge attack, you hurt your little friend!

Cole: I saw something. Looked like a a speck of light or something come from them. Use that move you know on the speck of light.
