Intrepid Love: A Star Wars Story

Open on Morren, a shipping and trade planet located near the outer rim, nestled in the middle of multiple transit routes. It's rainy 95% of the time, and the other 5% it's just cloudy. In the outskirts of a town on the planet, a small and heavily damaged transport ship crash-lands into an old warehouse. A lone Zeltron wanders out into the rain, and collapses from her wounds.

A young, blonde human woman opens the door to the warehouse, and upon seeing the crashed transport and the unconscious zeltron, she rushes out to check up on her.

The unconscious Zeltron remains unconscious. In the distance, up in the sky, the sound of multiple starships coming out of warp and entering the atmosphere is heard. An old, elderly, furry alien pops his head out of a pile of trash nearby
Niseen: Heh! Trouble comin'. This has Quasar Gang fightin' written all over it! Best leave 'er here so they can take care of 'er, and get their stuff back. No sense stickin' yer own neck out in this world.

Rika: Not a chance, I'm not leaving her to die at their hands. *Looks over the zeltron* Oh, I so wish this won't make things worse.
She picks up the zeltron by her underarms and drags her back into the warehouse.

Niseen: Yer funeral! *goes back under the trash*
The smoke from the crash goes up into the dark rainclouds above, leaving virtually no trace of the crash-landing from above, so the Quasar Gang ships fly on overhead.
A large, reptilian alien with ape-like features comes up to Rika
Foreman Gronno: Just what is going on? What's all this about?

Rika: Just a crash outside, nothing to get involved in.

Gronno: Who's that, then?!

Rika: Just some random woman who may or may not have been on that transport. Like I said, nothing to get involved in.

Gronno: *throws his arms up in annoyed acceptance* Bah, more mouths to feed. Just git back to yer bunk! *goes off*

Rika: Sure, no problem.
After a bit, Rika manages to lift the zeltron onto her bed before going off to gather any medical supplies she has.

Talin soon wakes up, and looks around
Talin: *groans* ....where...am I?

Rika: *Comes back carrying a box of medical supplies* You're in my bed, you had a rather nasty crash outside.

Talin: ..... *pulls out her blaster and aims it at Rika, her hand shaking* I suppose you know what's going on, then. You're gonna sell me out to Sozon, aren't you? I'm not going back there alive!

Rika: Just relax and put the blaster down, I have no intention of selling you out to anyone.

Talin: ...Why? Who are you?

Rika: It's Rika, and I just live here.

Talin: *sighs, and puts away her blaster* In any case, I gotta get out of here. Quasar's just gonna hunt me down if I stay here. *gets up, and tries to make for the door but gets a little woozy and stumbles* Ergh...

Rika: Oh no, you're not going anywhere until you get better. Plus, your transport is up in flames.

Talin: What?! No! That's it, I'm dead meat...it's only a matter of time 'till they find me here. They might just take you, too, and unless you can pilot, you're not gonna like what they use you for.

Rika: Well I do almost have enough to get a used freighter. I should be able to buy it by the time you're better. But either way, I have no intention of dying.

Talin: Used freighter? You're not thinking of using your money for me, are you?

Rika: No, I was gonna use the freighter to get off of this dump. You can come along since you're rather desperate to escape here.

Talin: ...Why would you help someone like me?

Rika: Why wouldn't I? It's the right thing to do.

Talin: Hm. Not many people on the outer rim care about doing "the right thing". I'm Talin Vendra, pilot...and...smuggler. I was part of the Quasar Gang, but I stole one of their ships and escaped. They uh...didn't like that very much.
