Calvin: Doomsday cult? I suppose you could mean the order of midnight aims to bring about some kind of misled apocalypse as a sort of world-cleansing demise that would destroy absolutely all life, them included?

Gerard: Well, they believe that an apocalypse will happen, and it will be caused by mankind. They figure, why not them?
Scarlett: Not the brightest, are they?
Gerard: They're very...."religious". They're not in it for world domination or anything. They believe they'll enter their own heaven, with sweetwine and cream pastries and maidens and what have you. I don't know why they would want your brother, Pippie, but I guess we'll find out.
Pippie: *her eyes drift towards the horizon* His fiancee was sick. and dying. He did everything he could to save her, but nothing worked. He..made a pact...he sold his soul to the nameless god those monks worship, to save his fiancee's life. Well, they came to collect, but they killed her, *her eyes tear up*and took Joseph away.
Gerard: Well...whatever they want him for...it can't be good.

(the Zephyr rises slowly to overtake the mountaintops)

Pippie: Yeah, it's below deck. *descends into the hold*
