Ophelia: Excuse me, Magnus? You said you'd train us or something...

Magnus: Oh, so you came after all, huh? Thought you'd all be too proud of your skills to come find me.
Cole: Well I've never been proud of my skills to begin with...

Jax: Hey, I'll never say no to more skills.
Ophelia: I'm just here to make sure my brother doesn't wreck anything. I'm confident in my skills.
Akane: I'll train, too!

Toby: Um... I don't think I can benefit from any training to be received here...
Magnus: Hm? You sound like the kid from the other day... You look different.
Addie: For some reason he... Evolved somehow.
Magnus: Evolution you say? Now that is something I haven't seen in a long time.
Cole: You've seen it happen before?
Magnus: Indeed! Happened to my wife of forty years. She went from a fire type to a fire and psychic type. I couldn't keep any secrets from her anymore.
Cole: What happened to you guys?
Magnus: She passed away about three years ago. Got very sick.

Ophelia: I'm sorry to hear that. But she must've been powerful to read your mind like that. I've barely been able to glance into Jax's mind. Not that I'd want to go back there...
Jax: Hey! Well...yeah, same...

Cole: Yeah... I dunno if I'd want you reading my mind either...
Toby: So yeah... Umm...
Magnus: Just because I can smash your face in that much easier doesn't mean I can't teach you how to at least soften the blows, kid.
Cole: That's not very good wording to a kid.
Toby: Mom told me this morning I had the physiology of a 14 year old girl now though.

Jax: Well....training, eh? When do we start?

Magnus: We can start right now, if you lot want.
Cole: Also, can I see anyone about fixing up my sword?
Magnus: I can do that.

Ophelia: Really? You sure do a lot in this town, don't you?

Magnus: This is a smithing town, after all. We make the finest weaponry available! For... Steel types anyway... *sighs* If only that stuff wasn't so heavy. I'd love for some spiked gloves to punch villains with.

Jax: What typing are you, anyway?

Magnus: Fire and fighting. The strongest one here.

Ophelia: So what's your plan to take care of that evil base?

Magnus: Put a community center over the rubble of that game corner. Better for the youth that way.

(a few weeks later, in the same town, Ophelia is sitting in the lounge room of the inn, looking over a few maps)
Ophelia: Hmm...this could be fun...I wonder if Cole is done with his training for today...

Cole: *comes into the lounge room* Hey. Whatcha doing there, Ophelia?

Ophelia: Well, I'm looking at possible vacation places. We could use a rest, I think.

Cole: *sits next to her* A rest, huh? Yeah, Magnus is a pretty tough cookie alright.

Ophelia: *leans against Cole* So how's your training going? Learn any new techniques?

Cole: I did learn a lot. How about you? How are you doing? *puts his arm around her*

Ophelia: Oh, bored out of my mind. I haven't had much to do around here. So, for this vacation, I was considering the Emberleaf Ilses. *points to the tropical islands on the map* What do you think?

Cole: Well they certainly look nice.

Ophelia: I think we should. You've all been working so hard. 
Jax's voice: I think we should! 
Ophelia: *yelps, and jumps out of the couch* Jax! Where are you?!
Jax: *pops his head out behind the couch* Oh I was hiding.

Cole: ...Why were you hiding, Jax?

Jax: ......um....good question. I mean uh, I was practicing! For stealth! 
Ophelia: *sighs* I really should be used to this sort of thing by now, with you. Well, we should depart soon, don't you think?
