Arto: I don't think so....I'm trying to detect magic, but all I'm detecting is just...aftermath rumblings...Whatever happened here, it smells final.
Demetrius: You can SMELL magic?!
Arto: Uh, yeah. It's a beginner mage trick.

Lona: How come I can't do it even though I'm a good healer?
Caran: That's because you're a bard.

Arto: Well I guess they only teach it at Esadan or Erolgard...oh well..So everyone's alright? No injuries or anything?

Caran: I don't think I'm injured. *looks at her tail* oh, it's bleeding. no wonder it was throbbing. Hey Lona, heal it, show us your magic.
Lona: Alright. *goes over to Caran and starts healing a gash on her tail with her hands glowing a soft white as the wound closes*

Blossom: Are you going to be alright, Caran? And what kind of magic do you think this is, Arto?

Arto: Why would you ask two questions in a row without getting the first answered? Anyway, it smells nasty. Very, very arcane. I think it might be Nergall.

(Barkul Stronginthearm could tell that the room in which he sat was very, very large. It was pitch-black, but he knew that the space went on and on. A serpent from the darkness slithered up to him, wrapping around him slowly. He was paralyzed with fear.)
Barkul: Ah! Master, I have done what you asked me to! I saw them in the inn, and I told you! Why are yo-
serpent: I have searched through the rubble of your disgusting city, dwarf. I did not find who you said was there. Did you lie to me?
Barkul: No, I didn't! Please-
serpent: MY MOST POWERFUL SPELL, MOLE! WASTED. Now what do I have to show for it? The ruins of a revolting mole-sty, and the rotting corpses of hundreds of dwarves in my front garden.
Barkul: But...master...why are you so afraid of a novice mage? The boy can barely manage a simple spell, from what you've told me.
serpent: It is not the boy, you worm. It is the company he keeps. Mainly, the girl. She is a sorceress. Barely even aware of her potential. I must not let her get near my castle.
Barkul: Why? Ther-
serpent: Do not mistake my conversation for a lack of punishment.
(the serpent, now fully wrapped around the dwarf, slithers around his neck, and snaps it, wrenching the life from Barkul Stronginthearm.)

~in the foothills of the Borden Mountains, on the edge of Cragmist~
(the party walks in sullen silence into the hills, the heavy rain pounding down on them)
Demetrius: I'm forming a union.

Demetrius: I can't adventure like this! It's uncomfortable and dangerous!

Lona: How about I sing us all a song to calm us down?
Caran: Why not just strum your lute since you'll probably end up insulting someone through your "song".

Arto: You're able to play in the rain?
Demetrius: My boots are soggy! My socks have turned into water themselves!

Blossom: A song sounds good. ^^u
Tiana: A song won't make us get over how miserable things are for us.
The thief sneezes as she hugs herself.

Lona: My uncle's done it once before. *takes out her lute and starts strumming random notes together into a melody* See? I'm playing in the rain.
Caran: It is quite lovely.

Blossom: Yeah it is... ^^
Tiana: Alright, this sucks too much. We should make ourselves a shelter to wait this out.

Honestly, I have no idea what a lute sounds like, so I'm imagining it as a ukulele to make things funny.

Caran: Quit being such a baby, thief.

Tiana: Hey, I'm not being a baby.
Blossom: Now now, no need to fight. Everyone calm down and listen to Lona's beautiful music some more. ^^u

Lona: i could used to just playing my lute. ^ ^ But I would love to sing though.

Arto: Then why don't you? Sing us a song! ^^

Garian:How can you not know any songs?

Arto: It's not a problem, Garian. I know a wizard who doesn't know any spells.
Demetrius: And I knew a thief who didn't know any thieving tricks.
Arto: "Knew"?
Demetrius: Well, he's dead now.

Lona: Fine. But I do know the lute notes for "the waters of Poston" *starts playing the notes*
