Poke-shounen story(The actual!)

???: Right, right, right. I've heard it said that the ability to change his typing was not given to him by any of his artifact gear, but...from a different source altogether. From a person that had the ability to change someone's typing. Would you be interested in something like that?

Cole: Well, adding the steel type at a clinic hurt like a monster. If I want to change my type, it'd have to be painless for sure.

???: Ah, *chuckles dryly* Of course. Of course. I could make this happen for you, if you like. As painless as you please.

Cole: You could? Who are you then?

???: Oh, names aren't important. But if you want to call me by something, call me...Pinstripe. I'm the one that changed the king's typing, and I could change yours....for a price.

Cole: Well I don't have much money on me at the moment...

Pinstripe: *smiles warmly, then pokes Cole's stomach wound* You don't pay with money, my friend. *removes the bandage around Cole's stomach, revealing nothing, not even a scar*

Cole: What the? What did you just do?

Pinstripe: Just think of it as a little demonstration of what I can do. That's not all, either. I would be increasing your strength ten-fold, with the added benefit of being able to change your type whenever you want. Just think- have you got any mortal enemies? You could dispose of them easily if you agree to my terms.

Cole: Well I don't have any mortal enemies. At least, maybe not right now.

Pinstripe: Truly? No gang leaders, former friends-turned-enemies, anything like that?

Cole: Oh...Oh! Elise! Right...Yeah... I just wanna know what went wrong with her is all. *sighs* Just thought I knew her. You ever have anyone like that in your life? Someone you thought you knew, but turned out completely contradictory to what you've learned of them?

Pinstripe: All too well, my friend. All too well. *sits down in a chair beside Cole's bed* I know the feeling when someone you once knew as your best friend turns around and turns your life upside-down. It eats away at your soul like acid. How could they? What right do they have? *leans in close* Make her rue the day she decided to double-cross you.

Cole: Yeah, maybe I should go after her then. You're right. How dare she!

Pinstripe: Exactly! Now, what do you say...*puts his hand out to Cole for him to shake it* Do we have a deal?

Cole: Sure, we'll have a deal. *shakes his hand*

Pinstripe: Excellent. *pokes Cole in the center of the chest with his bony finger, and leaves a small black mark, and then heals his other wounds* I'll leave you with that. Whenever you need to utilize my powers, just look deep inside yourself and there I'll be. And when you're done doing whatever it is you're doing, I'll collect my end of the deal. *smiles darkly as he slowly walks out the door*

Cole: How will I know what your end of the deal will be?

Pinstripe: Oh? Well that's not important right now...just focus on your goals. *exits the room, and closes the door* 
(just then, Ophelia walks out of the bathroom, naked, toweling herself off)
Ophelia: Were you...talking to someone?

Cole: Um....No, not really.

Ophelia: *looks at Cole weirdly* Well okay...go ahead and get dressed. We should be on our way here soon.

Cole: Alright then. *undoes his bandages and sets them aside before he gets dressed*

Ophelia: C-Cole, your wounds! How did they heal so quickly?!

Cole: Uh... No...Uh...Okay, would you believe me if I said some weird lanky guy came in, struck a deal for power with me and healed my wounds and then left?

Ophelia: *rolls her eyes* Whatever, you can tell me if you used that special potion I gave you when we first met. It's no big deal, really. Now c'mon. 
(later, when they rejoin with the group in town square)
Ophelia: Jax, did you and Akane take that brutish woman to the police?
Akane: Well...er...*kicks a rock while looking at her feet*
Jax: She got away.
Ophelia: What? How?
Jax: She tricked us! She used some kind of evil mind trick!
