Pokemon: Age of Steel

Open on the misty, mostly foggy Towne of Saffron, where the Rocket Guild has just killed the Earl, Training Order Leader, and took control of the city in one fowl Coup. Currently, Guild forces are marching through town, putting down any opposition and taking control by any means necessary. Our heroes are separate now, but the road of destiny will soon find them intertwined. Not physically, of course. They'd have just met. Anyway, in the red-tinted mist-filled Brothel Street, a swordsman darts out of the back entrance of one such establishment, followed by a small brown bird holding a large leek. The figures leap into the bushes, while a bit later, a number of Guild Soldiers brandishing cudgels, maces, and other blunt objects exit through the same door, and search the alley in no sort of quiet, calm, or expeditious manner.

soldier1: Didja see where he went?
soldier2: No, idiot! He threw sand in me eyes!
soldier3: Shut up, you two. *looks down both directions of the alleyway* He didn't run.
soldier1: Oh, sod him. We've got a whole street to storm, 'member? We's the lucky ones who got Brothel Street.
soldier2: I happen to be a woman, you know.
soldier1: Better yer not working here, I'll tell you wha-OW!
soldier3: I said SHUT IT! ...fine, let's carry on.
the soldiers retreat back into the red-lighted threshold, leaving the alley quiet once more.

Jerro: heh. Idiots.

A skarmory flies over the brothel street an quickly leaving as fast as it had appeared. The skarmor was also carrying a figure of sorts on its back and the bird lands atop a nearby building and letting the figure who turns out to be a girl off its back.

Nuwa: Hm. I don't like this guild being here. no way i can take them on all by myself though. Well, no way WE take them on TOGETHER. Yeah.
The skarmory nods at the woman's statement.
Nuwa: Now, I did see three of them run out of a building for some reason. Maybe we should beat them up? Hm.

(Jerro gets up from his hiding place, and dusts the leaves and twigs off his clothes, when he notices the Skarmory and Nuwa.)
Jerro: Ah! *unsheathes his sword*
(Jerro's Farfetch'd brandishes his leek in her vague direction)
Jerro: Another guild soldier, eh? I don't like the way you're terrorizing the brothels! Er, I mean the city! I can barely see you through the fog, but that won't stop me from at least trying to maybe stand up to you!

Nuwa: Lee, bring me down to that man.
The skarmory screeches before flapping its wings and hovering above Nuwa enough to grab her shoulders in its talons and swoop down to Jerro.
Nuwa: What were you doing in that bush?

Jerro: Oh! You're a wo-....woah...Uh, er...you're not from the Rocket Guild, are you?

Nuwa: Do I look like I'd be from the rocket guild? I just flew here from Cerulean. I heard there was a disturbance here. It seems like a bunch of goons decided to install martial law here. *puts her hands on her hips and looks around*

A short distance off, near where the Rocket Guild members are, a young woman with green hair in a white hooded robe is cowering behind several trash containers, hoping that they wouldn't find her and her partner, an Espeon.

Jerro: Is it my stress-addled mind, or did angel just descend onto me from the crimson mists? Lo, this is truly and auspicious night. *sheaths his sword* As for my sojourn into the greenery, I was seeking to right certain wrongs and rescue certain innocents from arbor-related doom. So, if your identity is not of evil origins, who, may I ask, are you?

Nuwa: I am Nuwa Mou. I was born into a family of fighters that live on Mt. Silver. I've recently begun traveling the region upon the request of my father.

Jerro: I'm afraid you've chosen your holiday at an inopportune time, love. The city seems to be in the midst of a...political altercation. Any other time, and I'd be happy to show you the sights.
(the Farfetch'd slaps Jerro in the back of his thigh with his leek)
Jerro: Oh! Where are my manners? My name is Jerro Dafen, master swordsman, born and raised here in Saffron. This is my lifelong friend, Rogue.

Nuwa: I see. This is my skarmory. His name is Lee. He was given to me by my father.

voices from inside the brothel: hey! I think I hear people out back in the alley!
Jerro: Well, that would sound like our cue to make an expeditious retreat!

Nuwa: Why retreat? Too cowardly to stay and fight the potential threats?

Jerro: Trust me, where three soldiers are, more are sure to come, especially if one escapes.
(the three soldiers burst out of the door, and rush at the two)
soldier3: GET THEM!

Nuwa: I'll get you! *runs at the soldiers and punches one and kicks another before elbowing the third*

(the soldiers all retaliate, swinging their maces and cudgels at Nuwa)
Jerro: Rogue, use your swords dance/ aerial ace maneuver!
(Rogue nods)
Jerro: On my mark, one, two...*draws his dagger with the hand not holding his rapier* GO!
(Rogue darts up into the air, swirling around gracefully, swinging his leek around, then descends, slashing the third soldier across the back, who then turns around to face the duck.)
soldier3: right lads, we're eatin' roast duck tonight! C'MERE!
(Jerro jumps in, and knocks the soldier's mace away with the hilt of his rapier, then holds it to the brute's throat)
Jerro: Not another step.

Nuwa: Hmpf! *uppercuts the first soldier's lower jaw and side kicks him into the wall of the building before rushing up to him and rapidly punching him with a flurry of punches to the chest and face*

The woman peeks out from the alley she's hiding in to look at the battle.
Woman: Um.....I should stay out of this..... Q.Q
She goes back into the alley and starts cowering again.

(the guard scrambles to hold his cudgel up, then whams it down on Nuwa's shoulder. Meanwhile, the third guard grabs Jerro's rapier,and bends it back, without effort)
Jerro: ...oh.
soldier3: I knew it was fake.
Jerro: Well, you could've played it off like it wasn't, so you'd seem very strong.
soldier3: Shut up and die.
Jerro: No thanks! *darts behind Nuwa* HELP ME!
(looking at this, the second soldier sighs, and goes off down the alley, towards the refuse bins which are there for some reason even though it's the middle ages)
soldier3: Where are you goin?
soldier2: You sods can handle this. *goes to the bins and finds Maya cowering* Oi! Who are you?!

The woman's Espeon starts growling and hissing (sorry, I know it's a fox but I just can't help but see Espeon as some sort of cat) as it backs away from the Rocket Guild soldier.
Woman: Umm.......Maya Sera. Please don't hurt me... ^^u

Zerochan says it's part cat, so it's not actually a fox.

Nuwa: you think a hit like that will stop me from defeating you? *punches the solider in the face and backs away* Lee, use peck!
The skarmory glides over to the soldier and drives its beak into his neck.
Nuwa: Neither Lee nor I will show mercy to our enemies. The fight will last until one of us is dead.

soldier1: Right then. It'll be that. *produces a large horn from his pack, and blows into it, sending a large blast of sound, echoing off into the streets surrounding* In a few minutes, this place'll be crawling with soldiers.
Jerro: We need to go, now! *grabs Nuwa's arm and starts running in the direction of the bins*

soldier2: The horn! They're having trouble? The sods. Rrr...*draws her club, and smashes one of the bins* I'll kill you! You're with them, aren't you?

Nuwa: Why are we running? I can take multiple enemies in a fight. I fought four nidokings at once before. Humans are nothing.

Jerro: It's talk like that that kills the average adventurer. I've seen plenty of huge, burly men boast about their prowess in battle, but if they go off to fight, they never come back!

Nuwa: You're only telling me this because I'm a woman. you doubt my ability, don't you? just like father.
